I am a survivor of a TBI. My coma was only 7 days, after about 6 years of extensive self study, great family support and therapy I graduated from college with my COTA/Certified Occupational Therapy Degree.
I am sure I am alive today because God had a purpose for me = to advocate, support and work with brain injury. I left you a message on another page. I am a team leader for the upcoming Brain Injury Peer Support Line: 4Peer11 http://www.braininjurysupportline.org/
Wonderful aobut getting your CODA degree. Bart tried getting it briefly after HS, but it was too tough. Congrats on your perseverence and contributions to the fellowship of TBI.
THANK YOU for your blog! Our family suffered TBI a few years ago (now) and have found MUCH healing in writing, praying & supporting each other. I was on my way to college just before the injury & continue to have that dream, wrapped in “fear of failure.” Not sure IF a cognitive or intellectual paired with physical limitations could handle it all. So PROUD of Lori.
